San Pedro Nolasco Island, informally known as Seal Island, is another of San Carlos' diving gems! Located approximately 17 nautical miles from the San Carlos Marina, this ecological reserve designated by the Mexican Government is home to a variety of wildlife including sea lions and dolphins. You may even spot the occasional sperm whale near the island!
While there is an extensive variety of fish such as, needlefish, wrasses, damselfish, blennies, and the ever-present sergeant majors, nothing quite compares to snorkeling or diving with sea lions! Though it may be intimidating at first to swim with these large mammals, you'll quickly learn they are very curious and playful creatures.
